Leaving and Pants

Right now, Majors does not like to leave or wear pants. He has so much fun being at new places and he loves people but he pitches a fit every time we leave.  Think he gets that from his Daddy?  He also tried on pants twice and he pulls them up.  He doesn't understand what's on his legs and they slow him down a little. I'm sure these things will become normal one day and just be a memory but it's kinda cool to see his personality unfolding, even his dislikes.

Busy

The Austin's have been very busy.  Nash got another promotion. Yay! We are proud of you! We have attended Hazel, Tripp, Flint, and Shaw's birthday parties.  I have been celebrating Jeanna's big day.  A much needed beach trip was in the cards for Mommy.  Majors is a busy body and his parents are trying to figure out the right way to discipline.  It's so hard!  He is doing great at Ms. Gay's but can't seem to shake this nasty cold!

Nickname

We have several nicknames in our family of 3. I am known as Nikki and Shelley.  Nash is also know as Puddin. We like to call each other Wifey and Hubby.  This probably drives our friends crazy but it's just something we do!  We have given Majors so many names and I don't want to forget them so here they are....

First Haircut

 

Majors got his first hair cut the day before his big party. He did great and the cookie helped. Thanks Brooke for coming to our home and being such a great friend/hair dresser!

Majors 1st Birthday

Majors first birthday was a great day. Thanks to everybody that came. It was a great celebration of our sweet boy's first year. The kids enjoyed fishing and swimming. Nash did great being the guy behind the fishing wall and Nana did a great job painting the fish.  I enjoyed planning and decorating. Aunt Amy made Majors' first birthday cake. Papa let us use his pool and backyard for the party.  Thanks to all for making his 1st birthday so special! It takes a village to raise a child and we are so thankful for our friends and family!

 

 

 

 

August

Why does my mommy have to work?

 

I have started a new job as a kindergarten teacher! I miss the smallness of pre-k but the students are much easier. I guess it's because they are more independent.  I do miss Majors every day but he is doing well at Ms. Gays.  Getting up early and being on time every morning is a big challenge for all of us but we have been successful so far.  Hurry up fall break!

11 & 12

Well I have been a slacker on the month pictures lately but Majors doesn't keep still long enough for this mommy to sit down.  Majors weighs 21.15lbs and he is into everything! He is walking everywhere and really picking up on things.  He loves to read Brown Bear, sing the bumble bee song, play chase with his Dada, dance, and pitches a fit here and there. I can't believe how much he has grown each month. We love you Boogie Bear! 

Beach Trip #2 and Fathers Day!

We spent our second beach trip and fathers day with Papa Majors.  We spent a few days in Valdosta to start off the trip.  We had a great weekend until Sunday morning the Austin's woke up with a stomach virus. It was miserable and Nash nor I felt like being parents or driving to the beach.  We managed to push through it and had some fun in the sun a couple more days.  Luckily it didn't phase Majors too much and he had fun building sand castles with his Papa and Dada.

5 Years Later....

Nash,
     These past 5 years have been full of love, laughter, and some heartbreak. I have watched you become a man that I am proud to call my husband.  I enjoyed being just us for 4 years.  Becoming Mr. and Mrs. Nash Austin are times that we can always look back on with our friends and families and say, those were some good times.  Thank you so much for always being my hard place to fall.  It's great to be with somebody that just knows what is wrong by the look on your face.  Having Majors has been such a blessing to our family. I got just what I wanted, a little boy that looks just like you. You are a wonderful father and I know he will adore you just the way you adore your Dad.  I wouldn't go through this thing called life with anyone else. Happy Anniversary and I am pumped about the next 5 years!

Beach Trip #1

Our first beach trip was so much fun! We hit the beach as soon as we arrived and Majors loved it. He was not scared of the sand or water. He ate plenty of sand, made friends with all the people around us, and danced on the beach. All the babies were wonderful. I hope Majors always enjoys life this much!

Pool Time

Majors first swim in the pool was great. He is a little fish already. We are so glad Papa has a pool so we can spend every summer splashing around!

Ms. Gay

Majors had his first visit to Ms. Gay's today.  When I dropped him off he was whining but I was a good Mommy and didn't linger. I knew he would be fine but I was fighting back the tears. He had 2 naps but didn't go to sleep on his own because Nana and I like to rock Majors so he is spoiled in that department. Ms. Gay loved Majors. She said he was the easiest baby she has ever had and she said she was serious! Wooohooo! When I came to pick him up he was splashing around in the pool. Sweet Boy is growing too fast!

9 & 10

Majors weighs 20 lbs and is 30 inches long. He is walking everywhere. He had his first ear infection at 9 months. Majors is eating four times a day and taking 2-3 naps a day. He loves to dance to any beat and says dada, mama, nana, bop bop, pop, and ball. He can also throw the ball, play patty cake, and does the hand motions to bringing home a baby bumble bee. We think he is pretty smart and has a wonderful nature about him. We were blessed with one sweet boy!

SOTW #6

We made it through the 6th Smoke on the Water.  It was very different with all these babies running around but was a beautiful weekend with friends, family, and T-town's finest. We missed our buddy Mack but made it a weekend he would be proud of.  Majors enjoyed his very first SOTW. Will we make it to #10? haha!
